Meaning:
Sam means 3 in Sino Korean. The trigram consists of a solid, broken and again solid line and represents fire (heat). The movements in this form should be explosive yet fluid and powerful. Taegeuk Sam Jang introduces the back stance and knife hand (both as a strike and a block).
